Dixie State University
Dixie State University is a good choice for serious-minded students who do not want to attend a typical “party school.”
This school was founded approximately 100 years ago by the LDS church, and the State of Utah started running the school in the 1930s. In 1963, the college was relocated to the current campus, which is located in downtown section of St. George, Utah.
Active students love having access to rock climbing, hiking, and water activities. Sports fans can boast about the school’s NCAA athletic programs for sports such as baseball, basketball, cross country, football, gold, and soccer. Those who like to mix a little partying with academic studies enjoy celebrating the “Dixie Life” by attending frequently-held activities like black light dances and movie nights.
Dixie State is ranked as one of the “most affordable colleges” in Utah, and the tuition costs are lower than most of the other colleges in the state. A long history of excellence, student activities, and affordability all combine to make Dixie State University an attractive option for students who are considering a college education.
