Located in Savannah Georgia, the University of Georgia's Marine Education and Aquarium offers parents, educators, students, and the public the opportunity to explore marine life through workshops, exhibits, and other fun learning opportunities. The facility is located at 30 Ocean Science Circle and is open between Monday and Saturday. Reduced entrance fees are available to both young children and seniors.
The aquarium provides visitors with the chance to experience aquatic life in one of the few ways possible without getting wet! The UniversityÕs aquarium was recently upgraded in 2007 and features exhibits on sharks, fish, and other water creatures. The site also hosts a fossil exhibit hosting fossils of sharks, woolly mammoths and more. As well, be sure to check out the Native American exhibit which illuminates the local history of Georgia. The University of Georgia's Marine Education facility offers tutorials to students which will complement the lessons taught in the classroom.
For students who are interesting in a possible career in marine biology (or just an interest in the field), they offer a summer camp program which is sure to excite as well as educate.
