Nestled along the Savannah River in Savannah, Georgia, can be found one of the south's greatest historic markets. The River Street Market Place is an open-air market that has been recreated from the period of the mid-1800's and the sheds that lined River Street at that time. It was voted by the citizens of Savannah as the number one spot for shopping, dining and nightlife.
The shopping at the market reflects the global trade of the port with ships coming in from around the world and these ships can also be seen from the gorgeous view from the market of the Savannah River. The market contains two courtyards which each having fantastic services for tourists and locals alike.
From Market Square, multiple tours depart including a Savannah walking tour or the popular trolley tour and more adventurous people can choose to join the ghost walk. The Market Courtyard provides options for a dinner cruise and the Dolphin cruise boat. Many people also choose to just relax in the courtyard while discovering what the small eateries and boutiques offer from the area.
