South Carolina's Pecan Festival is a community festival held the first Saturday of November each year. It's a street festival held in Florence,SC. There is live music playing with entertainers such as The Return, General Johnson, Blind Cripple, and many more.
It began in 2004 with the purpose of getting the town members together and the local vendors to show their talent and goods. There will be a kids art and craft vendors, and also a Kids Fun Zone, featuring games, inflatables. The festivals main theme is "Let's Go Nuts",and the families are encouraged to come to the festival and enjoy the show. The Masterworks Choir founded in 1979 is a 50-voice choir, who will perform at the Central United Methodist Church sanctuary at noon. The Kids Fun Zone will include games like pecan toss, pecan sack race, face painting, climbing wall, musical concert and many more.
The festival grew in size each and every year, leading to 7 stages of live entertainment,200 arts and crafts,non-profit and food vendors,3 running races in 2010.
