Pee Dee Cyclones
Pee Dee Cyclones were one of the best teams in the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) and began operations for the 2005-06 season. Unfortunately, They moved to Winston-Salem for the 2007-2008 season as the agreement did not materialize with Florence Civic Centre and became the Twin City Cyclones.
Two seasons later, the Twin City Cyclones ceased operations as they were unable to sustain the support required to continue. The downturn in the American economy was cited as a major contributor to the team's demise.
Hockey is one of the fastest games in the sporting world. This is professional hockey, and played at a very high level of intensity. The SPHL continues to exist and many teams are part of the league. If you ever get a chance to take in one of the games of the SPHL, you would be rewarded by edge-of-the-seat action!
