College of the Ozarks, the college refers to itself as "Hard Work Ua' is a private, Christian liberal-arts college situated at United States. The history behind the school is that it was invented in 1901 by James Forythe. He was one of the Pastor in Missouri Presbyterian Church. The school has a geographical area of 1,000 acre which is 64 km south of Springfield .It is flourished with all the beauty of Lake Taneycomo. Degree in Bachelor of Arts & Bachelor of Science is provided by the college. There is approximately a 16:1 student-to-faculty ratio there.
The College charges no tuition for full-time students, due to its student work program and donations. Each student participate on the program to work 15 hours a week and two 40-hour work weeks during breaks. To cover room and board costs a summer work program is there The mission since its establishment is "to provide the advantages of a Christian education for youth of both sexes, especially those found worthy, but who are without sufficient means to procure such training." There are several historical features in this Campus which make one of the favorite spot for vacationers.
Recently the students put their talent by inventing Edward Mill, a working Mill.The 12-foot water wheel helps for this. Also home made items like grains,flour, and meal can be purchased. The Fruitcake and Jelly Kitchen, started in the 1900s at the campus. This is a mind blowing view as this kitchen produces 40,000 cakes every year. Greenhouses are open to visitors, and the Ralph Foster Museum, which holds treasures from the Ozark's beginnings to the present.
