Beaufort Music Festival
The Beaufort Music Festival is a free annual three-day event in Beaufort, South Carolina. It is usually held in late April or early May and features free music in styles ranging from jazz to blues and funk. The small, picaresque town of Beaufort has long been a stopover for tourists of the Carolina coast, delighting visitors with its tranquil beauty.
The festival adds a new attraction to this lovely setting, with multiple stages set up along the beautiful waterfront of Taylor Creek. Attendees are encouraged to spend the weekend going where the spirit takes them à whether that's swing dancing to a big band or chilling to some experimental indie rock. The festival also offers family fun for children of all ages, with arts and crafts booths, face painting, and storytelling. Even better, the event also gives back to the community by helping to fund a $1,000 scholarship that is awarded by the Fred Bailey Beaufort Music Festival to a local graduating high school senior.
This two-decade old festival provides a whole weekend of free fun for all and is one of the best-kept secrets in this beautiful coastal area.
