Battlefield Park is a century old memorial dedicated to the battle between British troops that held the city of Savannah against a coalition of French, American, Haitian, German, Polish, Swedish, and Irish soldiers who wished to take the city for America and for freedom. The monument is completely free and open to the public and there are paid guided tours available if you wish to know more about the history of the entire battlefield. The battlefield also honors the memory of those who were killed or wounded in the battle with 800 stones arranged in the formations of the attack columns. The stones are Georgian granite to further honor their memory.
