Take an educational and “enlightening” trip to the Canadian Light Source Inc (CLS). This facility is Canada’s national research facility for synchrotron technology.
The general premise of synchrotron science research is the study of what happens when light interacts with matter. Synchrotron radiation is an innovative scientific discovery that has aided research in diverse areas of study such as material research, biomedical research, earth sciences, and archeology.
There are several types of tours available at CLS to accommodate various interests, and questions including; education tours (great for children between the ages of 5 and 12), Public Tours (great for small groups or curious individuals), Business Related, Technical, or Scientific Tours (specially arranged and tailored to specific group interests). In addition CLS can offer conferences and presentations to interested groups.
The facility is located at 44 Innovation Boulevard. Informational brochures are available in the reception area daily between the hours of 8 am and 4:30 pm. Offices are closed on statutory holidays and on weekends.
