Hug Point State Recreation Site
Hug Point State Recreation Site, also known as Hug Point State Park, lies on the coast of the Pacific Ocean on the western side of the state of Oregon. Its beautiful sandy beaches are nestled among trees and rocky outgrowths, providing both beauty and a serene sense of privacy, away from the bustle of the rest of the park.
Besides beaches, the area offers visitors many unique areas to explore and enjoy. Just beyond the parking area, visitors can travel the same trails carved out many years ago for stagecoach use. In addition to this trail, visitors can also return to the beach to continue their stagecoach path tour, as the beach itself once served as a road for coaches as well. Those ancient paths can also be traveled to the park’s main recreation areas, where families, couples, and individuals can enjoy a picnic, a barbeque, or whatever else they may have in mind. Children are well-served in these areas well, with more than enough play places to keep them occupied for hours, making Hug Point State Park a wonderful place to visit, for both locals and out-of-towners.
