Rat’s Nest Cave
Located in the small town of Canmore, Alberta, Canada is a whole new world. With its beautiful location in the Bow River Valley, at the edge of Banff National park, and the base of the Canadian Rocky Mountains is the Rat’s Nest Cave.
Canmore Cave Tours proudly provides access to this unique experience to visitors year round, 7 days a week. Tours accommodate parties with a minimum of two people that are at least 10 years old. Tours last at a minimum of 4 ½ hours. Visitors start the caving experience with a brief hike to the cave where the guide will point out any wildlife, fossils, plant life, and explain the area’s geology. Participants then get up close and personal with the cave by crawling, climbing, and slithering their way through mud to see everything Rat’s Nest has to offer. General access to the cave is restricted to protect its natural formations.
Rat's Nest Cave was named a Provincial Historic Site in the year of 1987, and it is 41°F consistently throughout the year. Unlike many cave tours, at Canmore visitors get a true spelunking experience.
